Digicel celebrates International Women’s Day

Digicel continues to improve connectivity in Tonga

The service was restored following the set-up of a satellite link which had capacity limitations.

Digicel Regional CEO, Shally Jannif, said; “As soon as the link was opened up and international calls got restored last night, we saw an influx of callers as there were up to 200 simultaneous calls. We know that a lot of people tried to call their loved ones in Tonga but were having issues with connection. Today, our technical team did further upgrades on the link and we are pleased to announce that now 400 calls can be done at a time.”

Our domestic network in Tongatapu is active and we are working to restore international connectivity. Digicel’s engineers and the technical team are working on the issues and hope to have them resolved in the shortest time possible.

A tsunami has hit Tonga’s largest island Tongatapu, as a result, Digicel customers in the Kingdom of Tonga have experienced disruption in their mobile service. Digicel’s domestic mobile towers are in operation across Tongatapu.

Digicel presents $131k worth of data to DPLD

Digicel Nauru CEO, Christopher Manaog, said; “This is a timely gift and part of our social corporate responsibility where we are giving 130 randomly selected people living with disabilities 10GB data monthly for 12 months which is worth $131,040.

“We hope to empower people living with disabilities through ICT and staying connected with their phones and laptops,” commented Manaog.

The first-ever global ‘Customer Day’ saw everyone in Digicel, everywhere across all markets, all functions and all teams dedicating an entire day to all things customer. Whether it was partnering with a Customer Care agent to take customer calls, responding to customers on web chat, going on a truck roll with the Digicel+ technical and installation team or attending to customers in-store or at meetings with corporate customers – every one of Digicel’s 3,500 non-customer facing employees partnered up with customer-facing employees to serve customers.

Digicel commits $60,000 to AFL Nauru Digicel Cup

The one-year deal is a substantial investment of $60,000 and includes the naming rights of the elite competition - AFL Nauru Digicel Cup Men’s District Competition.
