Second Nauru Resident Magistrate sworn-in

Mr Rupasinghe was officially sworn-in to his post as Resident Magistrate on Friday, 22 April in the presence of the Minister for Justice, Maverick Eoe and Acting Chief Justice Khan.

Mr Rupasinghe is a qualified attorney at law of Sri Lanka and Barrister of Fiji, who possesses a Bachelor of Law Degree and 15 years plus civil & criminal litigation experience at every level of local courts of law & former Magistrate of Fiji.

Frank Bainimarama sworn in as Fiji PM

Mr Bainimarama's FijiFirst party will have another four years in power after last week's election.

"I, Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama swear that I will be faithful and bare true allegiance for the Republic of Fiji, according to law," Mr Bainimarama said before a gathering of party members, diplomats, senior members of the military and judiciary at the presidential residence, State House.

"And I will obey, observe, uphold and maintain the constitution of the Republic of Fiji, so help me God."
