Nauru in six-country joint MOU signed for East Micronesia Cable Project

The six-country Memorandum of Understanding sets out partners’ intentions to deliver timely, quality project outcomes.

The East Micronesia Cable is an ambitious project to deliver secure, transparent and reliable telecommunications infrastructure to connect Kosrae (FSM), Nauru, and Tarawa (Kiribati) with the existing HANTRU-1 cable at Pohnpei (FSM).

Nauru and Taiwan sign MOU to establish a Taiwan Digital Opportunity Centre (TDOC)

Nauru Media News – NTV reports the TDOC project will provide equipment and expertise by Taiwan to train local talents to bridge the digital divide with the partnership of Nauru’s Department of Information, Communication and Technology (DOICT).

The MOU signing ceremony was held at the DOICT yesterday (Tuesday) and co-signed by Dean Wang, the ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador to Nauru and Pyon Deiye, Nauru’s Deputy Minister for ICT representing both governments respectively.

The MOU is a fruition of the efforts made by USP’s Faculty of Arts, Law and Education (FALE) under the leadership of the Dean, Dr Akanisi Kedrayate and initiated by the School of Social Sciences under the Social Work Programme.
