Bribery allegations

Company linked to alleged bribery in Nauru received refugee housing contract

Last week Australian police arrested and charged a director of Radiance International Pty, Mozu Bhojani, with one count of conspiracy to bribe a foreign public official.

The police allege the Sydney-based businessman provided Nauruan officials with more than $US70,000 in kickbacks in exchange for favourable phosphate shipments for Radiance International.

The police allege the bribery took place between 2015 and 2018.

Peter Crozier of the Australian Federal Police told the ABC programme 7.30 the alleged payments were made to obtain "business advantage in Nauru".

Solomons opposition accuses govt of bribery

The government of Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare is facing a vote of no confidence in parliament next week, after a series of defections from the government.

Mr Sogavare on Thursday announced moves to consolidate his coalition government, announcing eight new ministers.

But in a statement, the opposition group said that consolidation had included attempts at bribery.

It accuses the forestry minister Bradley Tovosia of trying to bribe MP Alfred Ghiro with cash and the fisheries portfolio, which he rejected.

Kenyan anti-doping agency to investigate new bribery allegations

The Sunday Times and German broadcaster ARD secretly filmed Major Michael Rotich apparently making the offer.

But he told the newspaper he was only going along with the sting because he wanted to find out who the undercover reporters were and "protect" athletes.

The Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya confirmed it will look into the report.

Chief executive Japhter Rugut said: "ADAK will investigate, verify and authenticate this new allegation."
