Jets lead 14-8 at break

Penalities were the way to go and the Jets were on the board after only a minute when Haydan Lipp kicked a penalty to take a 2-0 lead.

Lipp made it 4-0 in the 17th minute after the Hunters gave away another penalty in their own half.

The home side scored the first try of the match after good vision by Wartovo Puara Jr. sent Adex Wera over to score.

But the Jets hit back minutes later thanks to Fakahoko Teutau who caught the defence napping and bulldozed his way over.

An unsuccessful conversion put the score at 8-4.

“We have come again with another strong team for this weekend’s game against Dolphins, however, only a few changes will be made due to injuries but otherwise we will maintain the team that beat Tweed Heads two weeks ago,” coach Marum said.
