Nauru 7s side undaunted by experienced NZ, Cook Islands teams

Coach Dagan Kaierua knows the two games will not be easy.

“Unfortunately we are in a very tight, tough pool for this Oceania which is also challenging and exciting for the boys to be in the pool with New Zealand. We have been joking with ourselves that Cook Islands it will be called Cook Islands but basically its New Zealand territory because most of the players are based in New Zealand,” Kaierua told Loop Nauru.

Nauru 7s rugby team returns home winless from Noosa 7s

The side lost all their games in the tournament over the weekend.

In pool play, Digicel Nauru lost 45-0 to Tribes 7s, 47-0 to Tabadamu and 39-0 to Iconz 7s.

The team went on to lose 45-0 to Active Life Rehab in the quarter finals.

The tournament was won by Fiji-based club, Tabadamu.

The Nauru 7s team will now prepare for the Oceania 7s Championship which are scheduled for November in Fiji.
