A murals committee will arrange the painting of murals around the island.
A logo and theme competition has been launched to seek out the best logo and theme for the golden anniversary.
The winning logo will be used to brand all official anniversary items, events and merchandise.
There is no limit to the number of entries which may be submitted by the same individual and must be originals.
