As of 2016, there are about 29,751 TB notified cases in PNG.
Drug resistance arises from the improper use of antibiotics in chemotherapy of drug susceptible TB patients.
On this note, PNG through the National Department of Health, and in collaboration with the Medicines Sans Frontiers (MSF), is hosting an international training workshop on drug-resistant tuberculosis.
The event will be held at the Lamana Hotel, Port Moresby, from Monday 23rd – 26th April, 2018.
