BOE community celebrates Christmas in style

Boe Community Committee (BCC) organized a Christmas get together at the Kenas Aroi Hall in Nauru.

The hall was decorated and sitting arrangements were made for all the guests as organisers promised a night to remember.

Guests arrived to the sounds of Christmas carols and songs and the formalities began with an opening prayer by Rev. Dempsey Detenamo.

Just as guests were about to tuck into the lovely spread, a group of girls ran onto the floor to shake some moves in two hula dancing items.

Children from Sunday school groups also sang a number of Christmas carols and hymns much to the delight of everyone.

The faces of guests lit up and some joined in the singing. For a few minutes the atmosphere changed as guests became emotional when they watched a slideshow of Boe Community. Many recalled memories of growing up in the community some 40 t0 50 years ago.

All in all, residents of Boe and other guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves feasting on good food and entertaining themselves with music and dancing.
