The 2021 World Biathlon Championships will take place in Tyumen, Russia, going against a request from the International Olympic Committee (IOCTyumen's bid was voted for ahead of those of Nove Mesto na Morave in the Czech Republic and Slovenia's Pokljuka at the International Biathlon Union (IBU) congress on Sunday.

The awarding of the event to the Russian city does not comply with a recommendation from the IOC issued in July following the publication of the McLaren Report.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said the operation was "over for now" and the planes had gone.

Iran's Defence Minister Hossein Deghan had earlier criticised Russia for publicising the raids last week, saying it had exhibited a "show-off" attitude.

Russia for its part has confirmed that all of its planes used from Iran for Syria strikes are now back in Russia.

Russia. like Iran, is a key ally of Syria's President Bashar al-Assad.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russian trade sanctions on Turkey would be phased out "step by step".

"The priority is to get back to the pre-crisis level of co-operation," he told Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in St Petersburg.

Their relations soured last November when Turkey shot down a Russian bomber on the Syrian border.

Eight people are confirmed as infected with anthrax, a rare but deadly bacterial disease. It is believed to have spread from reindeer.

Russia has sent troops trained for biological warfare to help deal with the emergency.

The drills will be carried out in the "relevant sea and air of the South China Sea", defence ministry spokesman Yang Yujun told reporters at a monthly briefing, adding the exercise was "routine" and "does not target any third party".

Mrs Clinton did not hand over 30,000 emails as part of an investigation into her private email server as they contained private details.

Russia has denied any involvement in the hacking.

"I completely rule out a possibility that the [Russian] government or the government bodies have been involved in this," Dmitry Peskov, a Krelim spokesman, told Reuters in Moscow.
