Leicester Tigers 36-31 Bath - Tigers overturn early deficit for victory

Bath went 14-0 up after Beno Obano's fortuitous second-minute try and Ben Spencer's excellent solo effort.

Three George Ford penalties and Freddie Steward's try cut the gap to a point at the interval and Tigers went ahead with Harry Wells' try just after the break.

At 26-26 Cameron Henderson's try put Tigers ahead and despite Cameron Redpath's late score they held on.

The win sees Leicester move up from 11th to seventh in the table, while Bath drop to ninth despite getting a losing bonus point.

Nadolo impresses on debut as Leicester Tigers bag win over Irish

After a defeat at Exeter and a 38-16 home thrashing at the hands of Bath, the Tigers fielded a strong side and they just did enough to come away with the four points.

David Williams scored their only try with George Ford adding the conversion and two penalties.

Ben Meehan touched down for Irish, which was converted by Paddy Jackson and enabled the visitors to collect a losing bonus point.

Nadolo set for debut as Leicester name much-changed team to face London Irish

Ellis Genge and Tom Youngs return after missing Saturday’s fixture and are joined in the front row by fellow international Dan Cole, who came off the bench in the weekend home defeat to Bath.

Tigers academy graduates Harry Wells and Calum Green make up the second row with Hanro Liebenberg included at blindside flanker for his first start since the Premiership resumed. He is alongside Tommy Reffell and Jordan Taufua.

The fraught Tuilagi split: Ben Youngs on why Leicester U-turn would be 'a little crazy'

Youngs, who signed an extended contract of his own at the Gallagher Premiership club on Wednesday, admitted it would be “a little crazy” if Tuilagi was to somehow announce a U-turn on his quit decision.

This news will be a bitter blow to Tigers fans who have seen five players opt to leave rather than accept a pay cut. Also joining Tuilagi in exiting Leicester were Kyle Eastmond, Greg Bateman, Noel Reid and Telusa Veainu, who has since signed a three-year deal at Stade Francais.

Taufua to become sixth Leicester Tigers contract rebel to exit

Club CEO Andrea Pinchen did not include Taufua in a list five players leaving, which included Manu Tuilagi, Noel Reid, Kyle Eastmond, Telusa Veainu and Greg Bateman.

Taufua’s absence from the list had given Tigers’ fans hope that the explosive forward may yet stay put, despite not signing before the crucial club contract deadline on Tuesday.

Leicester Tigers-bound outside-back Nemani Nadolo

A powerful runner, clinical finisher and accurate goal-kicker, former Fiji powerhouse Nadolo will move to Welford Road ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The prolific Nadolo, who can play on the wing or as a centre, has racked up over 1,000 points in domestic rugby and scored in excess of 150 professional tries.

Tigers head coach Geordan Murphy said after landing the 32-year-old: "It's certainly one to get excited about, no matter who you are.

"He's a star of the international game and a player that crowds all over the world have been able to enjoy see play.

Bath suffer first defeat to impressive Tigers

Tries from Brendon O'Connor, Tom Youngs and Ed Slater helped the Tigers to a commanding victory at Welford Road, Owen Williams adding 17 points with the boot.

Semesa Rokoduguni and Tom Dunn crossed for Bath, but Todd Blackadder's men were ultimately well beaten as the hosts powered clear in the second half.

Leicester move up to fourth in the table, a point behind Bath and five shy of leaders Wasps.
