Kiwis captain allegedly bought cocaine after Anzac Test

A Canberra man has appeared in court after allegedly selling cocaine to two high-profile rugby league players after the Anzac Test last night.

Kiwis captain Jesse Bromwich and fellow player Kevin Proctor allegedly joined Canberra man Adrian Mark Crowther outside the Cube nightclub in Canberra's city centre.

Police allegedly observed Crowther on CCTV video preparing a white powder on his phone, before handing it to the two men, who rolled up bank notes and consumed the substance.

However the win - on a night skipper Cameron Smith celebrated his 50th Test - was soured by a possible fractured cheekbone to Josh Dugan that could rule him out of State of Origin.

The St George Illawarra star came from the GIO Stadium field midway through the second half after clashing heads with Kiwis prop and clubmate Russell Packer and failed to return.

His injury was the only low point on a dominant night for the world No.1 nation, who raced to a 30-0 lead before taking their foot off the pedal and allowing the Kiwis two consolation tries.

After months of behind-the-scenes negotiations, Nine will screen matches four days a week starting in 2018, in a deal worth "up to $925" million, the NRL said.

The NRL said it was the biggest deal in free-to-air TV history.

The number of live games on free-to-air TV will increase from the present two to four, with matches to be played during prime time on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday at 4pm.

NRL chief executive Dave Smith said the deal had secured the long term future of the game.'
