The new Australian High Commissioner to Nauru, Angela Tierney has presented her credentials to Nauru President Baron Waqa.
The high commissioner presented the letter of recall from her predecessor and her own letter of credence appointing her as High Commissioner to Nauru.
President Waqa welcomed High Commissioner Tierney and hopes for continued mutual understanding and partnership between their two countries during her tenure as high commissioner to Nauru.
Tierney also paid courtesy calls on the deputy Speaker of Parliament Asterio Appi and Cabinet Ministers.
She is a career officer with the Australian department of foreign affairs and trade having commenced her career with DFAT in 1999. Prior to her posting to Nauru she served as High Commissioner to Abuja, Nigeria.
