The Nauru Government says claims the death of an asylum seeker in a motorcycle crash was not an accident are false.
It says the 29-year-old Bengali national died when the motorcycle he was on collided with another vehicle.
The man was at the Australian run detention camp on the island.
The government said police were investigating the accident and no other details were yet available but they said reports on social media alleging it was more than an accident were false.
