Nauru Airlines to begin flights to Guam in June

Island Business reports Nauru’s national airline will begin flights to Guam in June and open up a new service to the Northern Pacific.

Nauru Airlines CEO, Geoff Bowmaker, made the announcement at the South Pacific Tourism Exchange in Sydney yesterday.

"We will begin flights in June or the latest by July," Bowman said.

This will mean access to Guam from Brisbane, Honiara, Suva, Tarawa, Pohnpei and Majuro.

Passengers from the Pacific currently access Guam through Japan, Taiwan, Korea and the Philippines.

Other options are island hopping from Honolulu through the Marshall islands and Federated States of Micronesia.

The two-day South Pacific Tourism Exchange is sponsored by Bank South Pacific and has the theme - Sustainable Tourism: Travel, enjoy, respect.
