Participants discuss tourism marketing possibilities in Central and Northern Pacific

Nauru Airlines invited representatives from the Nauru Tourism Office and Nauru’s Private Sector to attend a Tourism Seminar, hosted by the airline held in Pohnpei, FSM.

The seminar held in December was the first of its kind, whereby Kiribati, Marshalls, Nauru and FSM were brought together to review their potential marketability prospect to the ever growing movement of visitors into the region. The Seminar was well attended by each nation’s National Tourism Office as well as representatives from private businesses within the region.

Representation from the South Pacific Tourism Organisation was also in attendance, using the opportunity to remind the group of the upcoming South Pacific Tourism Exchange which is being held in Gold Coast, Australia in early 2016.

The Seminar provided the platform for open dialogue amongst all that were present, with another meeting to be held in Pohnpei, mid this month.

Participants extended their appreciation to Mr Bowmaker and his team at Nauru Airlines for hosting the Seminar and connecting the nations.

The Seminar coincided with the signing of the extension of the MOU between Nauru and FSM, which included the air services to the Chuuk State. The Minister for Commerce, Industry & Environment  Aaron Cook was present to sign on behalf of the Republic of Nauru.
