X Factor

X Factor is back (with a bit of de javu)

There are fewer live shows this year, with more episodes focusing on auditions and bootcamp stages.

Also, Simon Cowell is encouraging entrants to perform more original songs during their auditions.

But despite these changes, some of what the stars of the show have been saying sounds remarkably familiar.

Here's what Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger and Dermot O'Leary had to say - and how they caused a minor sense of deja vu.

This will be the best year ever for The X Factor

Former X Factor contestant attacked and bitten

She was with her wife and guitarist when she was attacked by two women on the street.

The singer-songwriter from Sheffield, who appeared on the show in 2012, shared pictures of the aftermath of the attack on Instagram.

She posted an initial picture holding a clump of her hair. Her face is visibly covered in bruises and cuts.

Another photograph shows the bruises and cuts on her face much more clearly.

She said: "Was attacked tonight after the show in Brighton, along with my guitarist and wife. Sussex Police have been amazing and are pursuing a charge.

Police called after 'pranksters' Trollstation invade The X Factor stage

Honey G had finished her performance and was getting feedback from the judges when a man ran up behind her and tried to touch her.

The group Trollstation say they were behind the stunt.

"There was a stage invasion by four men, with one further person in support," a spokesman for the show said not long after the incident.

"All five had been in the audience.

"They were spoken to by police and security and have now been removed from the studio."

Sharon Osbourne disputes X Factor drinking claims

On Sunday's show Sharon can be heard asking Louis "what's her name?" through her teeth before eventually introducing Saara.

The cameras were focussed directly on Sharon for the awkward moment.

"It's just me, I'm a bit dotty... but drinking? No thank you," she told Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain.

During the interview she laughed as co-host Piers Morgan asked if she actually had any idea who she was mentoring.

She put it down to "blanking" and says she is "the worst in the world" with names.

Nicole Scherzinger: Career comes at a price as she 'ain't got no kids yet'

The ex-Pussycat Doll, 38, is back on the panel of The X Factor this year.

She told the Sunday Mirror that she had made sacrifices in her personal life.

"Look at me? I'm not married and I ain't got no kids yet. Of course work has come at a sacrifice. I've missed out on life," she said.

But Nicole said that she had not expected to have children by now.

"I see a vision of what I want as an artist.

"Now I'm going to the top of that mountain. When I get there, then I'll have time for a family, and kids," she said.

Kylie and Dannii Minogue to perform on TV for the first time in nearly 30 years on X Factor

The sisters’ last duet in a TV studio was on Young Talent Time in 1986.

Their iconic performance of Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves saw the then teenagers covered in sequins and with gravity-defying ‘80s hair.

“We’re not going to be able to give nearly as good hair this time around,” Kylie said. “Or outfits, or anything like that. We literally can’t beat that. So we can only aim to honour it.”

The Minogues will perform 100 Degrees, a disco-influenced duet from Kylie’s newChristmas album.
