Six Nations 2022: Welsh Rugby Union considering hosting games in England

First Minister Mark Drakeford imposed restrictions on sporting events in Wales, effectively meaning professional games are behind closed doors.

There is no date set for when measures could be eased, with the next review scheduled for 7 January.

Wales are due to host Scotland in Cardiff on 12 February.

Wayne Pivac's side are also scheduled to meet France on 11 March and Italy eight days later at the Principality Stadium, meaning Wales could face the prospect of playing over half the competition on home soil with no fans.

Wales 38-23 Fiji: Stuttering hosts hit back to beat 14-man visitors

With Fiji leading 13-7, wing Eroni Sau was sent off for a reckless swinging arm on Johnny Williams in the 25th minute.

The visitors also picked up two yellow cards.

Hooker Ryan Elias scored twice with Kieran Hardy, Alex Cuthbert, Louis Rees-Zammit and Liam Williams also scoring as Wales finished strongly.

Wales host Australia next Saturday to end their autumn series, having lost to New Zealand and South Africa before overcoming Fiji.

Springboks edge out Wales in Cardiff

With the test locked at 15-15, Liam Williams was forced to evade the wandering fan as the Welsh winger attempted to outsprint the cover defence into the corner.

Soon after the Springboks won a penalty, kicking for the corner and scoring the match-winning try through hooker Malcolm Marx to secure a 23-18 victory.

The try was the only five-pointer of the match, helping the World Cup holders come from behind to record their first victory in Cardiff in eight years.

Message in a bottle washes up after 3,000-mile journey

Amanda Tidmarsh, 52, from Brynna, was walking her two rescue dogs along the beach in Ogmore-on-Sea when she noticed the bottle mixed up with seaweed.

She said she was "so excited" to find it, having previously joked with her family that she was "always on the hunt for treasure".

She is waiting to hear back from the crab fisherman who threw it overboard.

Canada is more than 3,000 miles (4,800km) from Wales, and the co-ordinates written on the letter show it was thrown in the sea nearby in November 2020.

All Blacks to meet Wales

The Welsh Rugby Union has confirmed its Autumn series with games against New Zealand, South Africa, Fiji and Australia.

The All Blacks fixture on October 30th is outside World Rugby's official international window, so Wales could be without players who play their domestic rugby in another country unless an agreement can be reached.

It is the All Blacks first trip to Cardiff since 2017 with the hosts looking to end a 68-year winless run against New Zealand.

Wales thrash Italy in Six Nations meet

Wayne Pivac's side, fresh from sealing the Triple Crown against England, made short work of the error-plagued Azzurri and will clinch a stunning Grand Slam if they beat France in Paris next weekend.

Wales sit top of the table with 19 points, while second placed France lost 23-20 to England at Twickenham.

France and England have 10 points with the French having a game in hand against Scotland.

The French will need to win both of their remaining games to have any chance of winning the title.

Wales' Willis Halaholo on his gratitude to Ma'a Nonu and quitting a boozy lifestyle in NZ

The 30-year-old former Hurricanes midfielder has also admitted observing ex-All Black Ma'a Nonu's professionalism gave his career a boost, culminating in his success in Wales since signing for the Cardiff Blues.

Halaholo helped Wales score a 25-24 Six Nations win over Scotland in Edinburgh on Sunday, highlighted by a superbly-timed pass for Louis Rees-Zammit's match-winning final try.

Facebook sued for 'losing control' of users’ data

The alleged failings were revealed in the Cambridge Analytica scandal, where harvested data was used for advertising during elections.

Journalist Peter Jukes, leading the action, claims his data was compromised.

Facebook told BBC News there was “no evidence" UK or EU users’ data had been transferred to Cambridge Analytica.

But the case against the technology giant, expected to last for at least three years, will argue a “loss of control” over users' personal data warrants individual compensation.

Wales set to call up trio including uncapped centre Willis Halaholo

Flanker Dan Lydiate has been released from the squad after suffering a serious knee injury in the 21-16 win over Ireland.

Centre Johnny Williams, wing Hallam Amos and scrum-half Tomos Williams will miss the match against Scotland.

Uncapped Halaholo was called up against Barbarians in November 2019.

The 30-year-old centre missed the non-capped international after suffering a serious knee injury playing for his region that ruled him out for almost a year.

New Zealand-born Halaholo qualified through residency after joining the Cardiff Blues in 2016.

Wales ease pressure on Wayne Pivac

Wales played with an extra man for 66 minutes after Ireland flanker Peter O'Mahony received a deserved early red card, but trailed 13-6 at halftime as they offered little in terms of creativity and quality in the opening period.

But as Ireland tired with their numerical disadvantage, Wales found space in the visitors' 22, and centre North and wing Rees-Zammit crossed for tries, to go with three penalties and a conversion from fullback Leigh Halfpenny.
