The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in New York City last week was very exciting and I enjoyed the opportunity to try out the new Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus (Check out ZDNet's Jason Cipriani's detailed first impressions).

Well, at least that's according to serial Twitter-based tech tipster 'Ricciolo' who has tweeted an alleged invite to the eagerly-awaited phone's big, Mobile World Congress-based unveil.

Dispelling claims the S7 will enter the realms of reality during the first weeks of 2016, it now appears that Sammy is sticking to its traditional launch cycle for its next, iPhone 6S-rivalling flagship phone.

With MWC 2016 set to run from February 22-25, the tipped unveiling on the 21st would see the phone debut the day before the biggest date in the mobile calendar kicks off proper.

The cream of the iOS and Android crops, these two flagship phones have edged the battle for smartphone supremacy closer than ever before. Both will set you back considerable sums of money and neither will disappoint on the features front, but which is the best?

The iPhone 6S, like its predecessor, oozes style and sophistication despite being slightly plumper than its predecessor in a bid to avoid more Bendgate woes. At a streamlined 7.1mm thick, the elegant brushed metal body has added 0.2mm to its flowing, curvaceous waistline.

After a less-than-favorable financial fissure in 2014, the company has been on a major image overhaul agenda. TouchWiz has been trimmed down, the Galaxies are now made of glass (well the high-end ones at least), and even the product logos have been refined. As the company prepares for its Unpacked event, new news is leaking out about the upcoming Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, the phablet-sized follow-up to this spring’s flagship.
