Israeli nationalists stream through Muslim Quarter

The Palestinian presidency said Israel was "playing with fire". It comes at a time of particularly high tensions following months of deadly incidents.

The march celebrates Israel's capture of East Jerusalem in the 1967 war.

Israel regards the whole of Jerusalem as its capital, something rejected by most countries and the Palestinians.

The Palestinians claim Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state of their own - ruled out by Israel - and political displays by either side are viewed by the other as direct challenges.

Thirteen killed as Hindu and Muslim groups clash

The clashes first broke out on Sunday, between protesters in favour of a controversial new Indian citizenship law and those against it.

The violence has taken on religious overtones, with Hindu and Muslim groups fighting each other.

The clashes have come during US President Donald Trump's first official visit to the country.

The violence is centred on Muslim-majority neighbourhoods in north-east Delhi - about 18km (11 miles) from the heart of the capital, where Mr Trump has been holding meetings with Indian leaders, diplomats and businessmen.

Trump's travel ban to go fully into effect

The court, with two of the nine justices dissenting, granted his administration's request to lift two injunctions imposed by lower courts that had partially blocked the ban, which is the third version of a contentious policy that Trump first sought to implement a week after taking office in January.

India's Assam mob kills two Muslim men over 'cow theft'

The killings in the north-eastern state of Assam are the latest in a series of attacks blamed on religious tensions over the treatment of cows.

Hindus consider cows sacred and killing them is illegal in several states.

Human Rights Watch report last week said at least 10 Muslims had been killed over the issue since May 2015.

The victims of Sunday's attack in Assam's Nagaon district have been identified as Abu Hanifa and Riyazuddin Ali, police said.

Tunisia nightclub closed after Muslim call to prayer dance remix

Video shared on Sunday from the Orbit Festival in the north-eastern town of Nabeul sparked outrage on social media sites.

The governor of Nabeul, Mnaouar Ouertani, said that the club would "remain closed" until further notice.

An investigation has begun into the incident.

The footage shows clubbers at a party on Friday dancing to music played by two European DJs near the popular seaside resort of Hammamet.

The music included a dance version of the call to prayer, the religious act that Muslims perform five times a day.

China Uighurs: Xinjiang ban on long beards and veils

The measures include prohibiting "abnormally" long beards, the wearing of veils in public places and refusing to watch state television.

Xinjiang is the homeland of the Uighurs, a traditionally Muslim group who say they face discrimination.

Recent years have seen bloody clashes in the region.

The Chinese government blames the violence on Islamist militants and separatists.

But rights groups say the unrest is more a reaction to repressive policies, and argue that the new measures may end up pushing some Uighurs into extremism.

Row after Norway Muslim group appoints spokeswoman in full-face veil

The culture minister, Muslim MPs and other Muslim organisations have condemned the Islamic Council of Norway's move.

It comes after the government gave the group 484,000 kroner ($55,000; £44,000) to improve interfaith dialogue.

Norway's parliament has already supported banning the niqab in schools.

A vote on the issue in last year had cross-party support and the ban is likely to be enforced later this year.

Several European countries have banned the niqab in public places.

Trump travel ban: US judge blocks new executive order

US District Judge Derrick Watson cited "questionable evidence" in the government's argument that the ban was a matter of national security.

President Trump described the ruling as "unprecedented judicial overreach".

The order would have placed a 90-day ban on people from six mainly Muslim nations and a 120-day ban on refugees.

Mr Trump insists the move is to stop terrorists from entering the US but critics say it is discriminatory.

An earlier version of the order, issued in late January, sparked confusion and protests, and was blocked by a judge in Seattle.

Nike has a new product for Muslim women: The 'Pro Hijab'

The head cover, called the "Nike Pro Hijab," boasts a single-layer pull-on design made from lightweight polyester in dark, neutral colors. The fabric's tiny holes will make it breathable while remaining opaque, a requirement for hijab-wearing women.

Nike (NKE) said it began developing the hijab after some Muslim athletes complained about wearing a traditional head scarf during competition.

Muslim comics take aim at Trump

Like many of the night's quips, rants, impressions and wisecracks, it was both a joke -- and serious. It was comedy as an "act of resistance," said Obeidallah, a way of empowering Muslims and racial minorities to talk back to the incoming powers that be. Namely, Donald Trump.
