Last year, Apple sold 10 million units and prior to that 9 million units in 2013. This year Apple released the new iPhone model in China on day one, which helped increase its sale numbers significantly.

Apple has warned that Pope Francis's impending visit to New York could stop the city's residents receiving their iPhone 6S pre-orders in time for this Friday's launch.

With traffic restrictions being placed on the bustling city during the pontiff's stay, it is expected that couriers will be unable to meet all delivery needs on the day.

Spanish retailer Ecomputer is listing the Lumia 950 at €659 and its larger sibling at €749, roughly the same as what the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus cost on the continent.

As these prices do not come from Microsoft itself, they should be taken with a grain of salt, but it's only a matter of weeks before official information will come our way.

Several charities accept old phones for donation, though it's worth remembering that these groups probably won't physically give your old phones to people in need. Rather, they work with phone recyclers and sell your donated phones to them.
