Folau set to return to NRL - report

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting St George Illawarra have applied to the NRL to sign Israel Folau on a two-year deal.

ARLC chairman Peter V'landys has previously indicated the door was all but shut on Folau to return to the sport after the controversy surrounding his religious beliefs during his time in rugby union.

However the NRL has recently indicated to the Dragons that it will consider the application and will not make a decision until they have reviewed the proposal and spoken to the relevant parties said the Herald.

Folau victim of 'discrimination'

Ex-Wallabies star Folau had asked for public donations in his legal battle against Rugby Australia (RA) having had his contract terminated by the governing body last month, following a social media post in which he said homosexuals were destined for hell unless they repented their sins.

Folau, who had previously been warned about similar posts, received more than 700,000 Australian dollars in donations on GoFundMe, but the crowdfunding platform shut down his page and refunded all donors on Monday, explaining that "this campaign violates our terms of service" in a statement.

Worldly Wallaby strives for Solomons' success

Tabua is helping the "dark horse" of Pacific rugby, the Solomon Islands, to reach its full potential.

The iconic rugby song "World in Union" could well have been written about Ilivasi Tabua.

The Fijian-born Australian rugby international is in Vanuatu helping the Solomon Islands to victory over Niue.

"Rugby has always been a part of me," he says.

"Not only have I seen the world, but it has given me a lot and I want to give back."
