Tanoa Hotel Group: New brand

This coincides with the upcoming opening of its new 4 star Tanoa International Dateline Hotel in Nuku’Alofa, Tonga. 

Tanoa is a major hospitality player in the Pacific with 10 hotels in Fiji, Samoa, New Zealand and soon, Tonga. 

This makeover for Tanoa Hotels, which was founded over 50 years ago, is designed to bring the brand in line with their growing portfolio and position in the market.

Hayne could still be included in Fiji's London Sevens squad

Ryan made this remarks after reports suggested he had been left out of the squad for this weekend’s London Sevens.

Hayne unaware of Parramatta Eels secret deals as he prepares for Fiji

New revelations in an NRL breach notice against the Eels reportedly show the club secretly arranged almost $500,000 in deals for the former NFL convert since 2013.

Official documents and boardroom minutes show a trail of salary cap discrepancies in the star full-back's third party deals with the club from 2013 to 2015, News Corp reported on Tuesday.

They allegedly include cash payments, first class overseas travel and car expenses adding up to $465,000, all hidden from the NRL.

Amit Singh, a senior forecaster at the Fiji Meteorological Service, said the system, TD17F, made landfall on the northern island yesterday, bringing with it heavy rain and strong winds.

He said Vanua Levu received 24-hours of very heavy rainfall, which has flooded low-lying areas and damaged crops, according to reports received by the service.

Tropical depression continues to affect Fiji

Fiji Times Online reports the inclement weather, which has brought heavy rainfall and strong winds in some parts of the country, is being caused by Tropical Depression TD17F, which was located about 310 kilometres north-north-west of Nadi at midday yesterday.

It is moving towards the country at 15km per hour.

Fiji Meteorological Service director Ravind Kumar said the concern for Fiji was the associated strong winds, rain and the likelihood of flooding of low-lying areas.

Post-cyclone rebuild package, reforms, announced in Fiji

The package, announced by Frank Bainimarama in Suva, included grants for new building materials and a new, more stringent, building code.

Cyclone Zena downgraded, moving away from Fiji

Zena comes after several days of intense rain in the west of Fiji that has already left several thousand in shelters and claimed at least one life.

Yesterday, it was upgraded from a category 1 to a category 3 storm, with winds gusting up to 170km/h at its centre.
