Chelsea have 15 points from eight games, one behind surprise leaders Southampton and title holders Liverpool, who visit Manchester City tonight.

Sheffield United are still looking for their first victory of the season and have picked up only one point so far.

Manchester United eased the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 3-1 win at Everton with Bruno Fernandes scoring twice and Edinson Cavani grabbing his first for the club.

The Premier League has approved for player surnames to be replaced on the back of their shirts with the slogan, while the BLM logo will be displayed on the front for the first 12 matches of the restarted season.

The Metropolitan Police Service, which confirmed last month that it had launched an investigation into allegations at football clubs in London, says it's received 255 separate allegations of sexual abuse at 77 named clubs or teams.

Earlier this month, British police said they had identified 184 potential suspects and 526 victims, adding that other sports had also been implicated in the child sex-abuse scandal.

Sadio Mane scored twice and Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can, Roberto Firmino and Giorginio Wijnaldum got the others as Liverpool moved one point above Chelsea.

Coutinho had already hit the woodwork before Mane got things rolling with the opener and Coutinho and Can made it 3-0 at halftime.

Roberto Firmino added a fourth in the second half before Mane got his second and though Daryl Janmaat grabbed a consolation, Wijnaldum scored the sixth to send them top.

Earlier, Arsenal missed the chance to go top when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham at the Emirates.

A brace from Charlie Austin and late goal from Jay Rodriguez saw Southampton make a strong start to their Group K campaign in the Europa League on Thursday.

After claiming their first competitive win of the season, Puel is keen for his side to focus on Sunday's clash at home to Swansea City.

"It's very interesting, because we changed the team a little bit for the start of this game, and I am happy for all the squad, because they can see many good players," he told Southampton's official YouTube channel.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes Paul Pogba is the world's best midfielder, but does not expect the France international to produce fireworks every week. 

While Pogba became the world's most expensive transfer with his move from Juventus to United, he is not expected to score as many goals as the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
