Cristiano Ronaldo 'has 10 years' left

The 31-year-old Portuguese's last deal was set to end in June 2018 but he will now remain with the Spanish giants until June 2021.

He added that the new contract would not be the last deal he signs.

"What I most want is to continue enjoying the years I have left to play," said the former Manchester United player. "I still have 10 years."

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez added: "We want to be together for many years to come."

The reigning champions looked set for a shock defeat before Ronaldo stepped up and picked out the top-right corner directly from a set-piece 25 yards out, and Morata secured all three points with a 94th-minute header.

Ronaldo's 350th appearance for Madrid came against the club where he made his debut, and it looked set to be a frustrating one when Bruno Cesar put Sporting ahead two minutes into the second half.

Sporting president hoping for Ronaldo return

The Real Madrid superstar began his professional career with the Portuguese club, departing for Manchester United after just one season in the first team.

Ronaldo has since established himself as one of the greatest players to have played the game during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu and Carvalho hopes to see Ronaldo in a Sporting shirt again before he hangs up his boots.

"I would love to [bring Ronaldo back]," he told Marca. "We are making a great effort for players to return, as we saw when we brought Nani back [on loan from United in 2014]. It will happen more.

Ronaldo will play this weekend

The Portugal captain has been out since limping off early in his country's Euro 2016 final defeat of hosts France with a knee injury.

He sat out Madrid's opening two LaLiga matches of the new season as well as their UEFA Super Cup defeat of Sevilla but has stepped up training this week.

Speaking at the launch of his new perfume on Thursday, the 31-year-old announced he would be back for the visit of Osasuna to the Santiago Bernabeu.

"I'm going to play," he told reporters, although it remains to be seen if he will start or settle for a place on the bench.

Ronaldo's Portugal scrapes into semi-finals with penalty shootout victory

Teenage sensation Renato Sanches, who scored Portugal's goal and smashed home one of the penalties, said it was a "wonderful moment for the team and for me for scoring".

It will be the fourth time Portugal have reached the semi-finals in the last five European Championships.

Portugal have reached the last four without winning a single game within 90 minutes.

"People criticise us but we don't care, because we are in the semis," Sanches said.

Cristiano Ronaldo throws reporter's microphone into lake

The Portugal star was out for a leisurely stroll with his compatriots near the team hotel in Lyon when he was approached by a journalist for comment.

Instead of his years' worth of media training kicking in, Ronaldo snatched the reporter's microphone out of his hand and launched it into a nearby lake.

The Real Madrid man is coming under increasing scrutiny, having underperformed in both his country's matches at Euro 2016.
