It's time to rethink how we treat child sex offenders

But having spoken to several over the years, I now can.

Many were damaged as children, and while that is no excuse, healing that damage may be the most effective way to prevent the sexual abuse of children.

You might find this approach scandalous, or think that I'm supportive or lenient or condoning the abuse of children. I am not.

I am not an apologist for anyone who hurts, or even thinks about hurting, a child.

He arranged to meet a prospective buyer in Johnson Park at Dulwich Hill, at 7:30pm on Monday.

'Santa' robs US bank after handing out candy canes

Memphis police said the thief initially appeared to be spreading Christmas cheer.

"At approximately 10:00am, a lone male wearing a Santa mask entered the Memphis City Employee Credit Union," police said in a statement.

"Once inside, the male handed candy canes to several employees and customers and wished them a merry Christmas."

The man then approached the teller and handed her a note demanding money, police said.

After obtaining the cash, the thief fled.

Italy: Public masturbation not a crime

The decision came down from the Italian Supreme Court -- La Corte di Cassazione -- in the case of a 69-year-old man, identified only as "PL," who was caught masturbating in Catania, a city on Sicily's east coast.

The man was convicted in May 2015 after he performed the act in front of students on the University of Catania campus, according to documents filed with Supreme Court. The man was sentenced to three months in prison and ordered to pay a fine of €3,200 (around $3,600).
