COVID-19 restrictions breach

Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini - all part of India's Test squad to play Australia - will be isolated from other players but are still able to train.

Both teams are investigating to determine whether bio-secure protocols for the tour have been breached.

The third Test begins on 6 January.

The tour is being played with restrictions to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The breach arose when players left their hotel rooms and had dinner in a restaurant without the permission of organisers.

Alex Lewington, Fergus McFadden, Juan Pablo Socino, Chris Robshaw, Richard Wigglesworth and Jackson Wray were given five-week suspensions for leaving the team's biosecure bubble twice and giving a false account of events during the RFU investigation.

Local police were called to break up more than 60 people at a house party in Schofields, Western Sydney, at about 11:30pm on Saturday (local time). Officers responded after receiving noise complaints from neighbours. 

Authorities intend to issue up to 60 of the attendees with COVID-19-related infringement notices of AU$1000 (NZ$1066), local police confirmed to 7 News. Gatherings are currently restricted to no more than 20 people in both outdoor settings and within a home as part of New South Wales' COVID-19 response.
