Broncos' Oates hospitalised with infection

Oates is being treated with antibiotics having complained of pain in his hips and lower body before his withdrawal from the Storm clash in Brisbane.

"He's doing well and taking it day-by-day with his treatment. The pain is under control now and it is a relief that we know what the problem is," Broncos chief executive Paul White said in a statement.

Milford set to miss at least six weeks

Milford left the field eight minutes from full-time after landing awkwardly in an attempt to dive on a loose ball.

The 22-year-old immediately clutched at his left shoulder, with trainers rushing to his aid and escorting him to the dressing sheds.

Warriors expect hungry baby Broncos

Without seven frontline players - six away on State of Origin duty with Queensland and hooker Andrew McCullough out with concussion - coach Wayne Bennett has called upon a number of youngsters and players outside of his first-choice 17.

But Warriors standoff Kieran Foran said there was no chance his side would allow complacency to creep into their game, following back-to-back defeats which has seen them drop to 14th on the ladder.

Benji Marshall to take on Warriors

Marshall returned for Broncos' feeder side Redcliffe last week, his first competitive match since breaking his wrist earlier in the season.

The 32-year-old is set to make his first start for Brisbane in Saturday's clash against the Warriors in Auckland, alongside Hunt who has been sidelined for six weeks with a hamstring injury.

Marshall's selection has been prompted by Anthony Milford's call up to Queensland's State of Origin team and hooker Andrew McCullough's serious concussion.

Broncos diversity brings them closer

The team gave their players an opportunity to tell this story and show what their culture means to them last week when they organised a cultural dinner.

The dinner was used as a bonding experience and encouraged some of the quieter players to come out of their shell.

The Broncos are a club built on inclusion, and this is not just within the playing group, with the club itself running a number of mentoring and educational programs for Indigenous Australians and Torres Strait Islander people.

I caught that ball: Milford

The 22-year-old appeared to bobble a pass on the ground before he stepped off his right foot and coolly slotted the one-pointer with his left boot to give his side a pulsating 25-24 win at ANZ Stadium.

Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire questioned the 78th-minute incident, but Milford said it was a fair play.

Injury rules Hunt out for Broncos

Hunt suffered the injury in the 49th minute, limping off the field after crashing over for a controversially disallowed try.

If the pain of having a four-pointer denied wasn't enough, Hunt soon realised something wasn't right with his body.

Broncos bracing for bruised Bulldogs

The Bulldogs put in a horrible performance in Round 4, losing 36-0 to the Manly Sea Eagles – making 12 errors and missing 29 tackles in the process.

It has left Canterbury reeling in 13th position with just one win for the season, but Brisbane are expecting an improved showing when the two meet at ANZ Stadium.

Kahu emerges as Broncos' field goal specialist

The comments came after Kahu slotted the match-winning field goal in Brisbane's 13-12 win over the Canberra Raiders at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

It was the Broncos' first one-point win in 364 days, with the last coming almost exactly a year ago against the North Queensland Cowboys at the same venue.
