The 2032 Ryder Cup will be hosted at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, the PGA of America has announced.
It was also confirmed the venue will be the stage for the 2028 US PGA Championship.
The Olympic Club's Lake Course has hosted the U.S. Open on five occasions, but has never staged a PGA of America event.
Speaking about taking the Ryder Cup to the west coast of America, PGA of America president Paul Levy said: "This is a special moment for our Association, to return the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup to the West Coast.
"We're excited to showcase The Olympic Club and its Lake Course, and combine them with the many tastes, sights and sounds that make San Francisco and the Bay Area so distinct."

The 2032 Ryder Cup, one of golf's most prestigious events, will mark the 49th contest between the United States and Europe.
Next year, Le Golf National will host the 42nd instalment of the biennial contest, while the 43rd, 44th and 45th will take place in Wisconsin, Rome and New York respectively.
"Our membership is elated to host the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup, two more gems that add to the rich multi-sport history of America's oldest athletic club," said Dan Dillon, President of The Olympic Club.
"Our collective anticipation for these signature events has already begun as we look forward to again welcoming golf's finest players to the famed Lake Course.
"I also want to thank the PGA of America for this opportunity, their partnership and service to the game of golf."
In 2016, United States earned a 17-11 victory at Hazeltine National Golf Club to end a streak of three consecutive Ryder Cup defeats.
