Nauru swears in PNG judge for its Appeals Court

The Nauru judiciary has sworn in Papua New Guinea's Nicholas Kirriwom as a judge on the newly created Nauru Appeals Court.

Judge Kirriwom is the third ranking member of the PNG judiciary.

He joins the Chief Justices of Solomon Islands, Kirbati and Vanuatu on the court, which was established as Nauru ended its long reliance on the Australian High Court as the final appellate court.
