Nauru’s weightlifter, Nancy Genzel Abouke finished in 5th place in the Women’s 71kg category final at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, yesterday (Monday).
Abouke lifted 87kg in her first snatch attempt and 110kg in her first clean and jerk attempt.
The category’s gold medal went to Sarah Davis of England.
Canada’s Alexis Ashworth claimed silver and bronze was won by Harjinder Kaur of India.
Nauru’s Bernice Detundamo came in 12th in the Women’s 64kg weightlifting category final.
