Her Australian team didn't win a game, but that didn't stop Nauru's Vanilla Ika from being crowned best

A young footballer from the AFL Nauru Talent Academy has won a best and fairest award in Australia, even though her team didn't manage a single victory in the Western Victoria Female League.

Stawell Warriors lost all 12 of their games in the home and away season, but remarkably Vanilla Ika still managed to accrue enough votes from the umpires to be be crowned the best player in the competition.

She also caught the eye of talent scouts when Nauru's women's team took on Papua New Guinea back in July and beat them.
