Over 40 boats were launched to commemorate the 13th anniversary of Nauru’s energy supplier company, Vital.
The new boats were put to sea from the Gabab Channel and Anibare boat harbour before they were used in a fishing competition that was organised as part of the celebration.
The boats paid an entry fee of $25 each and were given a box of water, uniforms and $160 worth of petrol courtesy of Vital for the competition.
Nauru Fisheries officials conducted the weigh in of the new boats at Anibare boat harbour, last week.
