Fifth Harmony 'truly hurt' by Camila Cabello's comments after leaving the group

Fifth Harmony have said they were "truly hurt" by Camila Cabello leaving the group.

In a statement the remaining four members - Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui - claimed they "made every effort" to "discuss the future of Fifth Harmony and Camila".

However, they went on to suggest that she had "refused" to meet up with them.

"We know you were hurt confused, we are too. We know you want answers."

Their post was in response to Camila claiming she didn't know the group was going to release a statement about her quitting.

"The girls were aware of my feelings through the long, much needed conversations about the future we had during the tour," she wrote.

"Saying that they were informed through my representatives that I was 'leaving the group' is simply not true.

"I did not intend to end things with Fifth Harmony this way."

Camila, 19, thanked the group's fans and said her time in the band had been "the most important chapter" of her life so far.

"As sad as it is to see the chapter ending this way, I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group.

"I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world and true happiness.

"I hope to see you on my journey."

The other members claim the "supposed lengthy conversations in fact never happened".

"In mid November we were told by her manager she would be leaving the group," they said.

"We truly support anyone's decision to do what makes them happy and to that end we wish Camila all the best - although saddened by the way she and her team handled the situation.

"We are done engaging in this back and forth.

"We wish only good things for all. Onward and upward."
