Wasps overturned a nine-point half-time deficit to clinch a superb 25-20 victory over Exeter Chiefs in their Premiership opener on Sunday.
The Coventry-based side have invested heavily during the close-season and the returning Danny Cipriani was among the starting XV at the Ricoh Arena.
But Thomas Waldrom, the Premiership's top try scorer last season, and Will Chudley scored tries while Henry Slade contributed seven points to leave 2015-16 runners-up Exeter 17-8 in front by the break.
Jimmy Gopperth's try had kept Wasps in it, though, and he added seven from the tee in the second half, while scores from Dan Robson and debutant Tommy Taylor completed the turnaround.
It took just three minutes for Waldrom to open his account for the season, the television match official judging he had fairly grounded in the right corner, while Slade's boot helped them move 10-0 ahead.
Gopperth went over in the left corner just after the half-hour mark but failed with the extras, and Exeter scored again before the break when Chudley touched down.
Slade's penalty stretched the lead in the 52nd minute, but Wasps' comeback started when Christian Wade sprinted clear to tee up the supporting Robson.
And Wasps went in front when Taylor marked his debut with a score off a brilliant drive, before Gopperth's conversion and another penalty helped seal the win.
