Miss Nauru ends Brisbane visit with photo shoot and lunch with Nauruan community

Miss Nauru Lucina Detsiogo wrapped up her week long official program in Brisbane, Australia at a professional photo studio and a lunch with the Nauruan community in Brisbane over the weekend (22-23 April).

The photo session was organised by Digicel Nauru featuring Lucina, who is a brand ambassador for the company, with Digicel products.

Lucina was very relaxed and enjoyed the shoot very much. She also posed in several other outfits put together by the Miss Nauru Organising Committee.

Digicel provided a professional hair and makeup artist to prepare Lucina for the photo session.

To conclude her week in Brisbane, the Nauru community invited Lucina to a lunch at the South Bank Parklands with special guest Australian Minister for Immigration, Peter Dutton making an appearance and to congratulate Lucina.

The community also presented Lucina with a donation box containing several hundred dollars.

Lucina was very relaxed while chatting to Mr Dutton, who was presented a T-shirt gift from community president Andrew Pitcher.

Lucina was accompanied throughout her official week by her best friend Eilanni Capelle, dresser Rendina Edward and chaperone Joanna Olsson.

The next step for Lucina now is to concentrate on preparations for the Miss Pacific Islands pageant in Samoa later in the year.

Prior to her official program in Brisbane, Lucina and her friend Eilanni enjoyed a few weeks with friends and family in Melbourne where Lucina was also invited by the Nauruan community there to a lunch at a Japanese restaurant then a surprise ride on a stretch Hummer. They presented Lucina with a gift consisting of a handbag and clutch bag, embroidered bath and hand towels and a wrist watch.

The Miss Nauru Committee thanks Digicel for sponsoring the photo shoot, the two communities of Melbourne and Brisbane for organising luncheons for Miss Nauru and a big thank you also to the Nauru Government for its support.
