Liberatore stars, Stringer shines in Dogs' intra-club clash

Western Bulldogs midfielder Tom Liberatore looks set for an immediate return to his best after starring in an intra-club match at Whitten Oval.

The 23-year-old missed all of 2015 after suffering an ACL injury in last year’s NAB Challenge but looked in excellent shape, winning plenty of the ball and dominating around the stoppages.

Liberatore won the Dogs' best and fairest in 2014 and came second in 2013.

Jake Stringer continued on from his excellent 2015 and was a threat all day up forward, kicking three goals for the White team. The 22-year-old kicked 56 goals last season and was selected in his first All-Australian team.

Nathan Hrovat also finished with three for White, while Jack Redpath booted four first-half goals in an encouraging display for the Blue team.

Jack Macrae was another to impress in the competitive hit-out between two evenly matched squads. The Blue team narrowly defeated the White team, 12.7 (79) to 11.6 (72).

Tom Boyd, Josh Prudden and Kieran Collins didn’t play, with the trio set to join full training next week.
