Ivanka Trump sets the record straight on whether she'd get into politics

Is Ivanka Trump eyeing a job in the White House?

That seemed to be the question on everybody's mind onceĀ Donald Trumpbegan his campaign for presidency, and it was only heightened after hearing the entrepreneur and daughter of the Republican nominee speak on his behalf at the RNC in Cleveland.

However, although the mother of three has previously said "never say never" when it came to considering a future in politics, Ivanka felt the need to clarify her statement during an interview withHarper's Bazaar.

"I made the mistake of once saying, 'Never say never,'" she said. "I do believe that in life there are so many things I'm doing today that I never thought I'd be doing, so I generally take that perspective. But I said that, and the headline was IVANKA MIGHT RUN FOR OFFICE, so...But, no, it's not something I think I would ever do."

But, Ivanka adds that she may have a change of heart if her father takes over the White House.

"The presidency of the United States is an incredible thing. You have an ability to effectuate change at the highest level. There are issues I am deeply passionate about."

As for what those things are, she tells the magazine, "Well, obviously, I'm a huge advocate for women and women's issues, like child care. The cost of child care is incredibly onerous. In half the country, the cost of child care exceeds the cost of housing. It's the largest expense for households. It's not sustainable or appropriate."

Ivanka touched on some of these topics during her memorable speech at the Republican National Convention last month.

"There have always been men of all background and ethnicities on my father's job sites, and long before it was common place, you also saw women. My father values talent. He recognizes real knowledge and skill when he finds it. He is color blind and gender neutral. He hires the best person for the job, period."

She later continued, "When Donald Trump is in charge, all that counts is ability, effort and excellence. This has long been the philosophy at the trump organization. At my father's company, there are more female than male executives. Women are paid equally for the work that we do and when a woman becomes a mother, she is supported, not shut out...

"Politicians talk about wage equality, but my father has made it a practice at his company throughout his entire career. He will fight for equal pay for equal work, and I will fight for this too right alongside of him."
