Avril Lavigne buys $5.4 million Sherman Oaks chateau

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger are picking up a chateau-style mansion as their latest real estate investment, reportedly shelling out $5.4 million for the digs.

And from the looks of this spectacular pad, we can see why this Canadian rocker couple can't wait to call this place home.

The 7,888-square-foot property encompasses a classic French charm throughout including stunning vaulted ceilings, four Juliet balconies, a dramatic double stair case and an ivy-covered terrace outdoors that opens up into a gorgeous oversized swimming pool.

The 6-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom abode pays exquisite attention to detail throughout, with exquisite hand-carved fireplaces and crown molding galore. The couple (plus their guests) will also appreciate the home's gourmet eat-in kitchen, with granite counter tops and an oversized island plus a built-in coffee and espresso machine, three dishwashers and two refrigerators. What's more, the Lavigne-Kroeger estate also boasts a theater room, home gym, basketball court and an outdoor kitchen.

Nestled on just more than half an acre, the expansive home occupies a healthy amount of the space on the flower-covered lot in the suburbs of Los Angeles.

Based on the pics (and lengthy list of A-list features), it won't be too difficult for Avril and Chad to settle into their chic new pad.
