According to a message that is currently circulating via Facebook, you should not accept anything from a person called Fabrizio Brambilla because he is a hacker.
Supposedly, Fabrizio Brambilla already has his system connected to your account. And, warns the message, if one of your friends accepts him, you will be hacked as well.
Versions of the message are circulating in Italian and English.
An example of the hoax:
Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept anything from Fabrizio Brambilla. He has a foto with a dog. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your messanger account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received.
Yet Another Silly Hacker Hoax
However, the supposed warning is yet another hacker hoax and it should not be taken seriously. The wording of the message is very similar to a long series of earlier and equally spurious warnings that have inundated Facebook in recent months.
From time to time, a prankster will simply change the name of the supposed hacker, alter a few details, and launch a new version of the hoax.
And, alas, Facebook users continue to fall for the false hacker claims and the hoaxes tend to spread very rapidly across the network.
Don’t Help these Hoaxes Spread By Sharing
Any warning message that claims that simply accepting a friend request will, by itself, give a hacker access to your computer should be regarded as a hoax and should not be shared. Sharing such nonsense helps nobody.
Moreover, these false hacker warnings can unfairly damage the reputations of innocent people who just happen to share the name used in the hoaxes.
