Mourinho’s Roma lose 6-1 to Bodo/Glimt

The Portuguese endured one of the heaviest defeats of his managerial career - and certainly the most surprising - as his Roma side were thrashed 6-1 by Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.

Roma trailed just 2-1 at the break after the Norwegian champions struck through Erik Botheim and Patrick Berg's curler, while Carles Perez replied with a clinical effort.

Mourinho made three changes at the start of the second half and another two on the hour mark after Bodo/Glimt added a third with Botheim tapping in from close range.

Man United beat Roma

United have scored five unanswered second-half goals to beat the Italians 6-2 in the first leg of their last four tie at Old Trafford.

Edinson Cavani and Bruno Fernandes both found the back of the net twice, while Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood also scored to erase a 2-1 halftime deficit.

Villarreal have beaten Arsenal 2-1 in the first leg of the other semi-final in Spain.

Nicolas Pepe scored what could be a crucial away goal for Arsenal midway through the second-half after Villarreal struck twice in the first half an hour.

Roma, The Favourite, win big at the British Academy Film Awards

The Favourite won seven trophies, including best British film and best actress for Olivia Colman, who plays Britain's 18th century Queen Anne in the female-centric drama.

Alfonso Cuaron's Roma, which centres on the nanny to a middle-class Mexico City family, took out the prizes for best picture, director, cinematography and foreign-language film.

Cuaron thanked Netflix for backing "a black-and-white film about a domestic worker'' that is not in English.

Liverpool to meet Real Madrid in Champions League final despite loss to Roma

Jurgen Klopp's side headed to the Italian capital with a commanding 5-2 advantage from last week's first leg, where their Serie A opponents snatched faint hopes of a comeback by netting a pair of late away goals.

Still, Roma had no margin for error – certainly not to the magnitude of the woeful blind pass midfielder Radja Nainggolan played in the ninth minute that resulted in Sadio Mane opening the scoring.

An incredibly unfortunate James Milner own goal did not knock Liverpool off their stride, with Georginio Wijnaldum restoring their ample cushion in the 25th minute.
