Fiji faces Australia in Saint Etienne next weekend.

Flying Fijians fall in thriller

It was a match that lived up to expectations with both sides giving their all for 80 minutes with two disallowed tries.

Fiji’s bench really raised the bar with their efforts when they came on and nearly pulled off a memorable victory.

The French fans got behind Fiji right from the start and never lost their voice.

Fiji was penalized less than a minute into the match when Albert Tuisue failed to release the ball after a tackle was made, Wales flyhalf Dan Biggar made no mistake with his shot at goal.

Injury shatters Muntz’s World Cup dream

The Fiji Rugby Union has officially confirmed this.

This unfortunate setback means that he will be unable to participate any further in the tournament

Teti Tela is set to step in and take the field against Wales on Monday.

Muntz, who made his debut for Fiji earlier this year, had been in exceptional form and played a pivotal role in Fiji’s impressive 30-22 victory over England just two weeks ago.

Coach Simon Raiwalui said its most devastating for them as a group and for Muntz.

Fiji has tremendous threat: Monye

During an appearance on the World Rugby Podcast, Monye acknowledged his personal acquaintance with several standout players on the Fijian team and emphasized the challenges they present to opponents.

Among the players who receive high praise from Monye, Levani Botia stands out.

“You got someone like Levani Botia, who plays at La Rochelle, whether he is at 7 or 12, he is one of the most devastating hybrid players on the planet. I think in terms of what he can do on the gain line with ball in hand and hie can stop momentum in defence.”

Rankings peak 'changes nothing' for Raiwalui's Fiji at Rugby World Cup

After last weekend's first win over England the Pacific islanders moved up to seventh, as they prepare to start their tournament against Wales on September 10.

"It changes nothing for us," Raiwalui told reporters.

"We haven't thought about the rankings.

"We've been taking it one game at a time. Since the preparation started we had a goal of improving every week.

"The objective and goal doesn't change," he added.

Former Fiji lock Raiwalui, 48, took over from Vern Cotter as head coach in February after the New Zealander resigned.

They're better than us: Nicky Little

In an exclusive interview with FBC Sports, Little said the team has what it takes to deliver on the sport’s biggest stage.

The former national flyhalf added he’s impressed with our current number 10, Caleb Muntz.

“I think they’re better than us. Not as good-looking as us, but they’re better, and yeah, I think they’ll do better than us, and I hope they do. And my shout out to Caleb Muntz, my man.”

Prep time key for Flying Fijians

Fiji has lost only one Test out of five since the new coaching team led by Simon Raiwalui took over the reins from Vern Cotter six months ago.

Raiwalui said compared to before where they sometimes just get together a week before a game, this squad is well ahead in terms of preparation.

The former national captain added that this is going to be one of most competitive World Cup following the recent success of tier two nations.

Fiji's win inspires Samoa

Samoa fell short 13-17 against the world number one side just less than two hours after Fiji beat England 30-22.

Former Samoa center and head coach Seilala Mapusua says they were inspired by Fiji’s historic Twickenham win.

Samoa came close to claiming their own historic win against World No.1s Ireland, only to ultimately fall to a 17-13 defeat in miserable conditions in Bayonne.
