Covid Task Force receives donation from Digicel Nauru

Deputy Chairman for the Task Force, Michael-Angelo Dimapilis said they are grateful to Digicel Nauru for the generous voucher and for Digicel Nauru’s ongoing support in providing incentives towards their on-going projects.

Nauru Media News reports CEO of Digicel Nauru Christopher Manaog handed over the voucher to Dimapilis who said the voucher will be dedicated towards the incentive of vaccination.

According to Dimapilis, the Task Force will be giving out top up per vaccination.

Digicel supports Tour de Nauru cycling race

Digicel Nauru CEO, Christopher Manaog said that he was delighted to announce Digicel’s sponsorship of the cycling race which is also part of the company’s 13th anniversary celebrations.

He added; “The cycling tournament is our way of giving back to the community and promoting a healthy lifestyle. The Tour de Nauru will be bigger and better this year with a total of $50,000 at stake in the main race.”

The event will be held over two days with the Family fun day to include jumping castles, fun games, live bands, special prizes, food stalls and much more.

Digicel Nauru sponsors Battle of the Hills cycling tournament

The competition was launched the President Lionel Rouwen Aingimea, who is also the patron of the cycling club.

President Aingimea thanked Digicel Nauru CEO Christopher Manaog for the support towards Nauru cycling club and for continuing to promote cycling itself as it is a sporting activity that will very much benefit the contestants fitness and endurance level including their health.

Digicel is contributing $10,000 for the competition which will go towards providing cash prizes for the event.

Digicel supports Nauru Police’s festive season campaign

Police Commissioner Iven Notte said “Digicel Nauru is a great corporate citizen, willingly and enthusiastically getting behind national causes that support the values and civic behaviours we want to see in this country.”

“This year, Digicel Nauru again is providing Police with an SMS BLAST set of SAFETYx3 messages, valued at around $5,000, all the way to the end of the Special Roster in mid-January 2022.”

Nauru Police Force opens first community post

Digicel Nauru CEO, Christopher Manaog was a bit emotional in letting the container café go but said in his address that "it was a no brainer," Nauru Media News NTV reports.

Digicel Nauru, a development partner of Nauru Police under their mantra Safety, Safety, Safety was honored to donate the container cafe for the greater good of the community.

The Commissioner of Police, Iven Notte in his address said, “he was happy because Nauru has its very first district-based Community Police Post at the Civic Centre in Aiwo”.

Tour De Nauru Launched

“The event to be held annually is aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle” said Mr. Howard.

With the anniversary of major sponsor Digicel coming up in September 2021, the first Tour de Nauru cycling race on the island is planned to be hosted on 25 September.

Digicel CEO Mr. Manaog informed Nauru Media that “Digicel will issue more details on the tournament in the coming weeks regarding how to register and participate in this tournament but for now the start and finish line will be at the Centennial hall. The event will be held annually on the last Saturday of September”.

Digicel Nauru assists NOC with sponsorship for Coca Cola Fun Run to celebrate Olympic Day 2021

The Digicel sponsorship will be for water, top-up prizes for best solo uniform, best group uniform and prizes for male and female 60+ including text blasts from Monday (21st June) to Friday (25th June).

Olympic Day is celebrated annually on June 23; however the fun run will kick off on Saturday June 26 at 8am from the Civic Centre in Aiwo to Capelle & Partner in Ewa district.

Registration opens at 5.30am onwards with participants to register and grab their t/shirts only this year to join the fun run.

The Digicel winners through prime bundles promotion were Ngaga Diema, Marika Degia and Kyle Notte; while Shaun Menke was a recipient of Capelle & partners shop for $50 or more promotion.

Nauru Media News – NTV reports all the winners were given one minute to grab any groceries from the shelves and frozen goods from the freezers. At the end of each minute the trollies were received at the cashier's counter and tallied.

But she was given an option to cash the prize and she chose to pocket $3,000. Digicel Nauru CEO Christopher Manaog presented her the cash prize.

Digicel ran a promotion across the Pacific markets where customers had to buy a prime bundle plan on MyDigicel app to qualify for Shake & Win.

Digicel Headline Sponsors for Rugby Sevens Series

The new sponsorship agreement inked is an investment into the development and promotion of Rugby in Nauru, which also includes the naming rights to the final leg of the Sevens Series on 31st October.
