Murrayfield sold out for arrival of Springboks

It will be the first time since March 2020 that Scotland will play in front of a full stadium, with Jacques Nienaber’s South Africa providing some stiff opposition in the third match of the 2021 Autumn Nations Series on Saturday 13 November.

Scotland have been victorious in five out of their 19 encounters with the Boks to date, but haven’t won against them since a 21 – 17 in the capital stadium in 2010.

All Blacks roll out big guns for 100th test against Springboks

There are several changes to the starting XV from last week's win over Argentina.

Joe Moody stays on one side of the scrum for Saturday night's match in Townsville, while Nepo Laulala is back in the number three jersey, replacing Tyrel Lomax who drops out of the matchday 23.

Codie Taylor returns at starting hooker, with Samisoni Taukei'aho on the bench alongside props Karl Tu'inukuafe and Ofa Tuungafasi.

Brodie Retallick returns at lock alongside Scott Barrett, with Patrick Tuipulotu moving to the reserves.

All Blacks beat Argentina to go top of world rankings

The bonus-point victory in front of 38,000 at Lang Park extended their lead to 10 points over second-placed South Africa in the Rugby Championship table while ending Argentina and Australia's title hopes.

South Africa, beaten 30-17 by Australia in the first match of Saturday's double-header, will need to defeat the All Blacks twice and pile on the tries in their last two matches to earn bonus points to have any hope of stealing the silverware.

All Blacks ring changes for Argentina with McKenzie at first five

McKenzie takes over from Beauden Barrett who drops to the bench for the Brisbane test, after playing a leading role in last weekend's 39-0 drubbing of the Pumas on the Gold Coast.

Joe Moody starts at prop after his return to the All Blacks off the bench last week, with hooker Samisoni Taukei'aho making his first Test start.

Tyrel Lomax will also start while fellow prop Ofa Tuungafasi is in the reserves for his first test following knee surgery.

All Blacks keep Argentina scoreless in Rugby Championship

The five-try victory could have been an even bigger winning margin.

All Blacks coach Ian Foster has credited his side's patience and decision making in the win.

"Pretty clinical and patient would be the words I'd use, not adjectives that would normally describe an All Black win I guess, but I'm actually delighted with it," Foster said.

All Blacks lock to stay at home

The All Blacks lock was supposed to fly to Brisbane on Friday to start two weeks in hard quarantine, after remaining behind in New Zealand for the birth of his third child.

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) was only granted an exemption for Whitelock to quarantine in Queensland late on Friday, with his flight delayed until Tuesday.

NZR believe the timing of Whitelock's arrival would not give him enough time after two week's hard quarantine to safely prepare to play against South Africa on October 2.

Retallick to captain All Blacks as Foster makes changes for Argentina

Retallick takes over from No.8 Ardie Savea, who suffered a head knock in last week's win over the Wallabies in Perth and was replaced after failing a head injury assessment (HIA).

Retallick, who has 86 test caps, is the fifth All Blacks captain this year.

In the forwards, hooker Asafo Aumua will be making his first test start, replacing Codie Taylor, who also failed an HIA in last weekend's Bledisloe Cup victory.

Jordie Barrett 'rapt' after Bledisloe Cup red card dismissed

Barrett was given a red card in the first half of the final Bledisloe Cup test when his boot made contact with the face of Wallabies winger Marika Koroibete after jumping in the air to catch a high kick.

But he would be free to play in Sunday's Rugby Championship test against Argentina on the Gold Coast after a Sanzaar judiciary on Tuesday night found the fullback not guilty of dangerous or foul play.

Barrett said he was grateful to avoid further sanction.

"It was a long process, very thorough and [the panel] handled it very well ... I'm rapt with the outcome.

Lomu, Williams, Cullen final inductees in Greatest All Blacks XV

In the final instalment of Sky Sport’s quest to find New Zealand’s Greatest XV, a panel of leading journalists and broadcasters – Grant Nisbett, Ken Laban, Rikki Swannell and Phil Gifford – were last week asked by The Breakdown who they thought were the country’s best-ever outside backs.

The panel were unanimous in their verdict that Lomu, the game’s first and only global superstar, and Cullen, the 60-test veteran who played for the All Blacks between 1996 and 2002, were New Zealand’s greatest left wing and fullback.

All Blacks banish Perth demons

They have beaten Australia 38-21 after leading 18-0 at halftime to move atop the Rugby Championship standings after two of six rounds.

The All Blacks completed the sweep without new captain Ardie Savea, who along with hooker Codie Taylor was unable to play any part in the second-half after they failed head injury assessments at halftime.

The Wallabies won 47-26 the last time the two sides met in Perth, where lock Scott Barrett was red carded.
