Toti City Dwellers go down to Auckland City

Auckland City FC defeated Toti City Dwellers FC 4-nil in the 2019 OFC Champions League quarterfinals at Auckland’s Kiwitea Street.

The Group D winners hosted the Group A runners-up on the afternoon of April 5th.

Both sides were equally matched in the first 20 minutes, defending and making defenders rush to secure their goal area.

The tug-of-war ended when Auckland City’s David Browne curved a through ball into the visitors’ net.

The Lae boys, determined to make the hosts work, kept them at bay until the half time whistle.

A return from break saw the elusive Browne dribble around Toti City defenders – Valentine Nelson and Mosie Milubwa – to double his team’s tally.

Seventy-eight minutes into the match and a corner kick by Fabrizo Tavano was effortlessly headed into the visitors’ net by Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi.

A fantastic curling drive by Browne 89 minutes into the match ensured his team’s clean sweep of the quarterfinals.

Meantime, the four quarterfinals winners will advance to the semi-finals.
