Anthony Joshua's next opponent appears to be all but confirmed, with a rematch against compatriot Dillian Whyte to go ahead despite declaring he's targeting American champion Deontay Wilder, according to the Times.
Having defeated Alexander Povetkin with a seventh round knockout last weekend, Joshua is still wanting a bout with WBC title holder Wilder, as victory would see him crowned heavyweight boxing's unified, undisputed champion.
However, with Wilder to fight Brit Tyson Fury in Las Vegas on December 1, Joshua's options have thinned, meaning a possible rematch with Whyte firming as the most lucrative for the undefeated 28-year old.
Joshua defeated Whyte in 2015, handing him his only career loss to date, while both fighters have defeated New Zealand's Joseph Parker in 2018.
Whyte meanwhile, appears likely to face longtime rival Dereck Chisora in December, although his status as the WBO's leading challenger could see him be given another fight against Joshua as a mandatory challenger.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that Joshua's next bout will be on April 13 after Sunday's victory.
