NRL trials week one injury update: Lussick to miss 4-6 weeks

Manly Sea Eagles prop Darcy Lussick will miss the start of the Telstra Premiership season on account of the ankle injury he suffered in Saturday night’s trial against the Cronulla Sharks.

Scans revealed Lussick suffered a high ankle sprain, but no fracture, which will see he sidelined for between four and six weeks.

His rehabilitation is already underway with Sea Eagles medical staff.

In other injury news from the opening weekend of the pre-season, Storm fullback Billy Slater isn't expected to be in doubt for round one despite coming off early in his team's World Club Challenge win over Leeds.

Slater landing awkwardly on the same shoulder that forced him out of nearly two years of football, but the club has since indicated the move was precautionary.

Warriors recruit Agnatius Paasi came off early in his club's trail against a Melbourne reserve squad with his coach Steve Kearney stating it was a likely medial strain after the game, though Paasi seemed unencumbered after the match as he signed autographs for fans.

Sharks prop Braden Uele will go through standard concussion protocols after being forced off early in the second half against Manly following a collision that left him with a cut above his eye.

Rabbitohs centre Hymel Hunt came off early with a possible hamstring strain though he stated after the game the move was purely precautionary and he would be "100%" right to play next week.

His teammate Campbell Graham was also taken off with a hand injury, but the severity of the injury is yet to be determined.
