Ireland captain Rory Best caps off a great week

The Ireland rugby captain Rory Best has capped off a great week by receiving a Queen's honour at Buckingham Palace

Just days after leading Ireland to their first ever home win over the All Blacks, Best was in London to receive an OBE from Prince Charles.

The 36 year old Ulster captain was given the award for services to rugby.

The hooker has helped Ireland win the Six Nations four times, including this year, and also two Grand Slams.

He captained the British and Irish Lions during last year's tour of New Zealand.

Best has so far made 212 appearances for Ulster and has 113 caps for Ireland.

Both of Best's parents were on hand and both have been decorated with MBE's.

Best's father John was honoured for services to agriculture and mother Patricia for services to the public sector.
