Digicel Nauru Shareholders receive dividend

Digicel Nauru earlier this month presented a dividend payment of AUD$489,400 to the Nauruan Government, underpinning its ongoing commitment to Nauru and her people.

Since 2009, Digicel has paid dividends of more than USD$10 million to its local shareholder.

His Excellency Hon. Baron Divavesi Waqa, President of The Republic of Nauru thanked Digicel for its significant contribution to the communications infrastructure in Nauru.

Digicel Group Chairman and founder, Denis O’Brien, thanked His Excellency the President and the Hon Ministers for their precious time stating; “We are proud of the deep and positive relationship Digicel has built with the Government of Nauru. Our significant investments alongside our partner, the Government of Nauru, have seen us being able to assist His Excellence the President and the Government of Nauru in achieving one of their major objectives by providing them people of Nauru with first class mobile and broadband services. We are honoured to serve them.’

Digicel Nauru CEO, Deepak Khanna, added,” We are continually looking for ways to ensure that our customers and our communities benefit from our presence.  I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our valued customers and business partners for their continued trust in and support to Digicel and assure them of our commitment to them.”

In recent months, Digicel has invested a significant amount in network infrastructure upgrades and in rolling out its LTE service with customers enjoying superfast speeds and great value offers and is gearing up to make it a Christmas to remember with great offers and promotions.

Digicel is also active in the community with various grassroots sponsorships including sports and communities support.
