Six Pacific beauty queens will be vying for the crown at the Miss Pacific Islands pageant that is underway in Tonga.
This year's contestants are Miss Tonga Kalolaine Funganitao, Miss Samoa Sonia Piva, Cook Islands Lydia Simonis, Miss Tuvalu Emelipelesa Panapa, Miss Papua New Guinea Leoshina Mercy Kariha and Miss American Samoa Magalita Johnson.
The pageant theme is Pasifiki Masini or Magnificent Pacific. Contestants will be judged on interviews today followed by a sarong, talent and traditional garments event this evening.
Reigning Miss Pacific Islands Matauaina Toomalatai from American Samoa will then pass on the crown tomorrow night at the final ceremony in 'Atele Indoor Stadium.
